Setup 1:
The first option for wheel setups is 58mm wheels in a flat-rocker setup all rockered down.
We used 2x 4-Packs of Undercover Green Team 2012 58mm 90a Wheels
This is the biggest possible wheel setup you can ride these frames with if you want to skate flat-rocker. The axels have been rockered down which makes the wheel stick out of the frame further, making their lifespan just a little bit longer.
Also in the picture you can see what kind of h block space you will be looking at, a pretty decent amount if you want to maximize this room you should ride 56mm in a flat rocker setup rockered up. There is a picture below showing this setup.
Setup 2:
The second option for wheel setups is 56mm wheels in a flat-rocker setup all rockered up
We used 2x 4-Packs of Eulogy 2012 Cammayo 56/88 Wheels
This would be the smallest wheels you would want to go with if your planning on skating flat rocker. Anything smaller and the frames will scrap, because the wheels are too small. The axels have been rockered up which makes the wheels sit further in the frame, this will give you a little bit lower ride height.
Also in this photo you can see the generous amount of h block space you would be looking at. Definitely ideal if your trying to maximize your groove tricks.
The third option for wheel setups is 60mm wheels on the outside rockered up and 56mm wheels on the inside rockered down.
We used 1x 4-Pack of Undercover Team 2012 60mm 90a Wheels
1x 4-Pack of Undercover Ian Mcleod 2012 Pro White/Blue 56mm 89a Wheels
The 3rd and in my opinion the coolest possible wheel setup this frame allows. For this setup you can put 60mm wheels on the outside rockered up and 56mm wheels on the inside rockered down. What this does is maximize the amount of h-block space you have, while you are still able to ride the 60mm’s on the outside. So this give you that close to the boot feel, and also makes your wheels last longer simply because its a 60mm wheel in a flat setup.
Another setup i did not mention in this blog is the fact that you can ride these frames with 80mm wheels on the outside rockered down, to do this you just have to modify your soulplate with a Dremel tool to make it fit. “The Kizer Slimline is one of the younger additions to the Kizer family. The 2011 re-vamped version of this frame has been designed as the ultimate flat setup frame thanks to the help of the industries leaders in frame technology including the one and only Al Dolega.
A flat setup is beneficial for a number of reasons: It allows you better speed and control as well as improved anti-shock. Flat setups allow for faster turns and also allow for longer wheel life.
Slimline 2 frame sizes measured from center of rear wheel bolt to center of front wheel bolt:
Small – 243mm
Medium – 258mm
Large – 277mm”
